Sawangwongse Yawnghwe is presenting the works Opium Parallax ll and the series of Still Life with Foreign Mud. Opium Parallax ll is a large diagram that connected by many key words, exploring the relationship with politics, military and economy of Shan State (Burma) which Sawang focuses on; The Still Life with Foreign Mud is a series of opium and poppy still life, discussing about the influence that brought to Asia by the Europeans. The thickness of the oil on the painting has the same viscosity as the opium tar.
The work of Micheal Lin, Weekend, is a gathering of patterns and colors from the prominent Hill tribes of the Golden Triangle, displaying on the outside wall of Chiang Rai Old Provincial Hall which were deeply influenced by Western culture. It is exploring about the relationship that contemporary art between the local place.
