Organized by the Taipei Fine Arts Museum and curated by Abby Chen, the Taiwan Pavilion of the 60th Venice Biennale features a solo exhibition by Yuan Goang-Ming. Regarding the exhibition title Everyday War, Yuan proceeds with the contexts of his past practices, with themes such as home, dwelling and an uncanny tomorrow, which can be seen in his works Dwelling (2014), as well as Tomorrowland and Everyday Maneuver (2018). Yuan aims to explore the lurking concerns and threats of Taiwan's current state of existence with metaphorical approaches. By asking questions about the future, the exhibition re-examines the realities of the present, considering "war as part of life" and "war becoming the new normal".
