"AWT Focus" is curated by Mami Kataoka, the director of the Mori Art Museum and the executive of the National Research Institute for Cultural Properties, Tokyo. The exhibition, titled "Earth, Wind, and Fire: Visions of the Future from Asia," brings together works from 57 artists and art groups to explore contemporary art's expressions of the universe and its energies, encompassing diverse worldviews from Asia and beyond.
Mit Jai Inn’s series titled WV AWT (2024) produces vibrantly colored canvases, seeking to create a connection between people, society, and nature through repeated application and manipulation of pigments. Charwei Tsai’s work We Came Whirling Out of Nothingness XII-V (2024) features dynamic spiral forms inscribed with the Heart Sutra on linen, reflecting a pursuit of spiritual tranquility and unity, rooted in meditation and introspection.
